Isaiah: Chapter 47

Come down and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon; Sit on the ground without a throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans! For you shall no more be called Tender and delicate. Isaiah 47:1 KJV

This month we investigate the additional Marys of Jesus’ life, including Mary Magdalene and Mary of Bethany, trying to sort out their story from the myths that surrounded them to accommodate political and social patterns of early Christianity. There is an important sister relationship with Martha we will also consider. The non-canonical work, The Gospel of Mary Magdalene, will be an additional area to explore, including the larger archaeological find of the Nag Hammadi texts discovered later, but related to her character.

Desire is prayer and it has been my desire for a very long time to have an interest in studying the Bible.

It’s happened, at last….and I am on fire! Spend every spare moment in my study listening to your videos. Can’t get enough! I’m going to start reading the book of Esther tomorrow.

Very grateful to have access to all of your workshops, videos and other resources and for all your hard work and late nights(while I was sleeping!😂)
