This talk covers the brief letter to the Philippians that Paul wrote to his dearest supporters—the members of the new church in Philippi.

Having been with them only briefly, Paul found he was in the midst of friends who caught his vision and who would support him in every imaginable way through the coming tough years. What indescribable joy comes through each chapter. That joy is underscored again and again, despite the hardships Paul was enduring when he wrote the letter and despite the conditions the Philippians themselves were facing.

The letter, which urges the Philippians to put into perspective what is most important, offers divine guidance to spiritual seekers who are undergoing tough challenges themselves. Paul explains in it how his own imprisonment advances the Gospel. He also teaches the seeker how to pray and how to share the Gospel.

The power of strong role models and the way to handle disputes with fellow Christians are two more areas of spiritual guidance that he gives. In short, Paul expounds on what it means to live a Christian life, a subject that is as relevant today as it was in the 1^st century, when he wrote to the community of Christians he so loved.
